Abdul's bio

I am an enthusiastic Graphic Designer who enjoys being part of and leading a productive team. I am quick to grasp new ideas and concepts, and to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems. I am also able to work well on my own and can demonstrate high levels of motivation required to meet the tightest of deadlines. Even under significant pressure, I possess a strong ability to perform effectively.

My passion towards graphic designing started during my school days as a designer and webmaster of Asoka College, Colombo. I enjoyed playing the main role in creative projects and promoting school’s image in magazines, banners, souvenirs and video trailers. I take great pride in the fact that I pioneered the devolment of the school’s official website. (www.asokavidyalaya.lk)

As an enthusiastic graphic designer from a very young age I have always seeked for opportunities which provide me good exposure, an environment to learn new technology and execute my creative and innovative ideas for the wellbeing of my society. My motivation is not only achieving my personal goals but also working towards the success of the organization that I’m part of.

I’m proud to be a volunteer in V Force (National Volunteer Task Force), an initiative of UN Volunteers Sri Lanka which gave me opportunities to get involved and contribute to team projects and social service activities along with other United Nations agencies and ministries.

At the age of 17 I was proud to have been the youngest lead designer of the UN Volunteers Sri Lanka research report on “Sri Lankan Youth: Volunteering to Make a Difference” which was launched at the World Conference on Youth 2014.
