Target

Led team of 24 functional (Sr.) Business Analysts and Project Managers and up to 60 independent contractors across the U.S. and India to enable Target’s supply chain and business intelligence capabilities. Responsible for strategy development, $1.0M staffing P&L, innovative process design/enhancement, and implementation of industry-leading data management best practices.

• Developed business case, led requirements gathering, and implemented master data technology that reduced labor expense by $1.2M annually. Delivered technology on time and 10% ($200K) under budget.
• Built off-shore team of 16 Business Analysts to enable round-the-clock work by developing a global talent strategy, marketing the business benefit with executive leaders, and building strong relationships. This effort saved approximately $900K annually in labor expense while maintaining a data accuracy rate of 99%.
• Developed and executed data strategy, including data governance, master data management (MDM), and data quality capabilities with participation of over 50 cross-functional enterprise leaders.
• Led cross-capability technology project that reduced the number of clicks to access critical information by up to 65% for hundreds of users using SAP Fiori/UI5/HTML5 technology. Played role of Agile Scrum - Product Owner in this project to reinvent the end user experience of SAP.
• Regularly communicated team performance and value with executive leaders to highlight operational effectiveness and impact of process improvement efforts.

Manager, Special Projects - Findability & Product Information Team

Led team of 22 independent contractors and two team members in development and execution of strategy to conduct competitive review for 900+ product categories and acquisition of 500,000+ data points to support the launch of the new Target.com. Responsible for $1.0M staffing P&L.

• Completed 25 week data planning portion of project in only 19 weeks and $100K (10%) under budget.
• Partnered with teams across the Target enterprise to align strategy with other data efforts and identify synergies to ensure project objectives were exceeded.
• Presented strategy and progress updates regularly with senior leaders, including President of Target.com.

Manager, Quality

Target

Provided strategic leadership of four team members in development of first ever Target.com Data Quality team. Developed strategy, built relationships, and created processes to enable strategy.

• Developed data profiling, measurement, and analytic capabilities to enable Target.com navigation, search, and supply chain functions with high-quality product data, copy, and images.

Sr. Mgr. Gross Margin Planning

Macy's

Responsible for Sales and Gross Margin planning, forecasting, and results for a division with $700 million in annual revenues. Conduct financial analysis, communicate potential solutions for strategic business decisions, and execute strategic initiatives in partnership with senior leadership. Analyze pricing strategy and performance.

• Realized a $0.5 million cost savings by eliminating unproductive inventory through goal setting, challenging teams to deliver results, and strategic partnerships with CEO/President, Chairman, CFO, and over 100 merchant team members.
• Exceeded Gross Margin rate plan in a $340 million annual revenue business—resulted in Gross Margin of $121 million.
• Developed proprietary reporting to identify problem inventory and address it to improve inventory turnover and decrease expense.
• Presented monthly financial performance indicators and forecasts to senior leadership.

Manager of Order Management and 20/20

Macy's

Managed purchase order, logistics and sales analysis (20/20) systems for $2.2 billion of annual receipts. Developed, led, and coached two direct reports. Created best-practices and processes for order management systems.

• Implemented a streamlined markdown execution process for 200 associates—doubling markdown productivity resulting in a cost savings of $250,000 annually.
• Received quarterly “Ownership Award” for execution of sales analysis system implementation and partnership with Merchants to improve financial results.
• Identified sales improvement initiatives by creating and presenting four new sales analysis reports to senior leadership.
• Delivered key historic financial data for 7 million SKUs to outside consulting firm resulting in revised merchandise mix decisions by senior management. Received seasonal “Rock Star” award for this project.

Senior Business Analyst- SWAT/Transition

Marshall Field's

Ensured timely transition of merchant systems due to merger with Federated Department Stores (Macy’s). Identified processes and timelines for transition of systems and validation of results. Trained 400 associates on new systems and ensured uninterrupted business processes throughout.

• Mapped merchandising hierarchy of 1,000 merchandise departments and approximately 60,000 merchandise classes from May Company to Federated (Macy’s).
• Converted and validated 7 million SKUs from May Company to Federated Systems.
• Implemented a new sales analysis system and trained 400 associates how to implement it effectively to improve financial results.
• Adapted quickly to new proprietary systems leading to a role as Subject Matter Expert and go-to person for entire merchandising organization.
