Founded a new department to direct Quiksilver’s web strategy across all brands. Worked under CIO to align e-Commerce and interactive teams. Directed seven B2C e-Commerce launches in a multi-million dollar partnership with GSI Commerce for Quiksilver, Roxy and DC Shoes. Led campaign development and UI for all Quiksilver brands generating $50MM+/annum in B2C revenue.
Program Manager for an international B2C implementation of Oracle ATG Commerce and led interaction and information design to drive a single code base across brands. End-to-end capital budget responsibility. Coordinated Enterprise Architects, Art Directors and Developers in high-visibility capital project spanning 50+ resources with Board-level oversight. Directed SEO strategy, email segmentation planning and global site naming and WMT strategy with partner agencies.
Acting Program Manager and IT liaison for multi-million dollar B2B in-house development project chartered by the Board of Directors as part of a margin-improvement taskforce. Leveraged 100% internal resources, .NET open-source framework and existing site designs from B2C to create a robust B2B system with near-zero capital investment.
Implemented policy and procedure for global domain acquisition, analytics and email campaign management. Directed development of custom Product Management (PIM) toolset for merchants, marketers and retail/wholesale management teams to enable internal users to get data to the consumer on a timely basis, in a simple interface without prior training. Directed the expansion of Shimano’s global web presence from two hosted servers to a self-managed redundant, mission-critical 24x7 eBusiness environment. Managed the coordination and centralization of all web assets worldwide into a secure architecture. Project lead for domain trademark acquisition obtaining 150+ domains in over 40 countries. Managed vendor relations including co-location, site maintenance and response, domain acquisition, domain registration, legal, encryption, database and backup. Technical lead for research, architecture and contract negotiation with B2B (Blue Martini) and content management software vendors. Supervised SAN integration coordinating multiple vendors, nationwide, to provide a robust, clustered architecture to meet Shimano’s growing global data capacity requirements. Managed systems administration IT staff and a team of consultants in maintenance of VPN, DNS, firewall and routing technologies. Managed all other technical deployments and operations of a highly stable N-tier Web architecture for production-level URLs including staging / development environments for a global enterprise.
Headed technical operations for a subdivision of Phillips (Fabian Investments). Reporting directly to the President/CEO, directed a total technology overhaul managing vendors and local staff in the migration to an Windows NT client/server platform, installation of a Lucent PBX system and complete disaster recovery solution including power and data backup. Managed building security vendor, re-negotiation of office space, co-location facility for IT servers, Iron Mountain data storage and 3rd party vendors for support of a legacy SCO database. Business owner and project lead for all website development including content managed sites utilizing Smith Micro’s WebCatalog and live radio streaming utilizing rich media (QuickTime, Real and Windows Media). Oversaw deployment and maintenance of mission-critical Internet gateway, list/mail servers, firewall and web servers running both the Apache and IIS platforms. Managed vendor relations for domain registration, SSL and S&P Comstock data feed.
